$1 Million Grant Program to Assist Women’s Businesses Hurt by COVID-19

Texas Woman’s Center for Women Entrepreneurs has launched a new AssistHer COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant to assist women-owned businesses that have been severely impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Purpose: 

The purpose of this program is to assist Texas, woman-owned businesses that have been severely impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19). A total of $1,000,000 (100 grant awards) is available.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the grants, businesses must be at least 51% owned by a woman, have a demonstrated need due directly to COVID-19, and be owned and operated in Texas. Awardees will be required to complete online training on how to maintain business operations in the current environment and report all expenditures of grant funds. Eligible businesses must be up to date on payroll, sales, and other taxes and be properly permitted.

2020 Census is Happening Now

WHAT IS IT: The census records how many people are living in the U.S. and five U.S. territories. Under the Constitution, Article 1, Section 2, the U.S. must conduct this census every ten years. It is important to complete this year’s census.

WHY: It is required by the law to participate in the census. Federal funding is often allocated based on population. Census results affect planning and funding for healthcare, education, infrastructure, employment and more. Let’s make everyone know that Mount Pleasant counts.
