MPEDC & Partners Match Awarded Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas Grant

Overview of High Demand Job Training Program

The Texas Workforce Commission has dedicated one million dollars to support collaborations between Workforce Development Boards (Boards) and Economic Development Corporations (EDCs) to provide high-demand occupational job training in local workforce areas.

The High Demand Job Training Program is intended to support Boards in partnering with local EDCs that use their local economic development sales taxes for high-demand job training. To achieve that purpose, TWC wants to enable Boards to collaborate with local EDCs and match their local economic development sales tax funds to jointly support the provision of such training.

Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas Grant Awarded

Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) selected the Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas to receive a grant award based on the High Demand Job Training Program application. The Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas has been granted a $50,000 High Demand Job Training grant to match the $50,000 in funds provided by the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation.

This grant will create job training programs that will improve and enhance the skill sets of individuals for jobs in high-demand occupations in Mount Pleasant, TX.
