Welcoming Commissioner Alberto Treviño III
MPEDC was honored to help welcome Texas Workforce Commission Commissioner Representing Labor Alberto Treviño III at Mount Pleasant’s Newly Weds Foods Inc. location. Staff spoke briefly about some of the good things happening in Mount Pleasant before the Commissioner’s tour of the international customized ingredient manufacturer. Newly Weds is the beneficiary of a Texas Workforce grant for $193,372 to Northeast Texas Community College to help train employees in robotics, programmable logic controllers, mechanical drives, motor controls, and more. A check presentation was made in February 2024.

The awarded grant will be instrumental in driving forward the training and development initiatives at Newly Weds Foods. By enhancing the skills and capabilities of our local workforce, we are not just investing in individual futures but also in the collective prosperity of Mount Pleasant.
