New Business Park Under Construction in Mount Pleasant, TX

Contracts for construction of infrastructure serving the new Mount Pleasant Business Park were signed by City officials in April of this year and construction is underway on this 200 acre Business Park.

The Mount Pleasant IDC purchased property in January of 2005 for the Business Park.  Over the past year engineers from KSA Engineers have assisted city officials in the design of the park and ways to phase in development of the park.  In March bids for construction of streets, sewer and water service were advertised.  Construction bids were opened in March and the contract was awarded to Cleve Batte Construction with a total projected cost of $2,062,605.26.

Charles Smith, Executive Director of the Industrial Foundation indicated that construction was expected to take no longer than 180 days.  When complete, the Business Park would offer property with all utilities in place from 3 acres to 100 acres to light manufacturing and distribution firms.  Smith indicated that the high visibility and quality of the park would be an excellent opportunity to further Mount Pleasants primary job growth.
